The First Presidential debate, and the winner is .....

This evening's presidential debate between candidates Senators Obama and McCain surpassed my excitement for the Play Offs. The state of our nation, as we remember it eight years ago, is at stake. I was glued to the television with my laptop.

The debate clearly defined the candidates’ positions; one as a forward thinker, the other mired in the past. McCain eloquently recited historical fact, previous administrations and his lengthy political past. Obama spoke to the future of this nation and the our place on the world stage. When our economy teeters on the brink of collapse from policies implemented by McCain and President Bush, he stills holds the party line that the economy will improve by further catering to big business. It was Bush’s administration that created the deregulated fiscal nightmare that threatens our nation economy. Obama has the common sense approach that when it is broken we must fix it. McCain’s deregulation policy and tax incentives for big business and the wealthy are how we arrived where we are today. I am ready for a change.

Obama is undoubtedly the intellectual amongst the two candidates; however not pompous or arrogant as many attributed to Gore. He is open to negotiation and forward thinking; McCain sadly remains a soldier from a bygone era of Busch politics. We have the choice of selecting a Diplomat or a Soldier.

I found McCain’s new mantra of “Senator Obama just does not understand” to be patronizing and condescending. Hopefully the public will not be duped by his Jedi trickery. Obama took the high road with his diplomatic style gave and credit where it was due. Whenever he found common ground he with McCain he did not hesitate to state his opponent was “right”.

I look forward to the Vice Presidential candidates debate next week after having watched Palin self destruct in her interview with Katie Couric. I am fascinated as to what she will do for a ninety minute debate. There is no way she can parrot the same party lines when she steps into the ring with Biden. After her performance next week I am sure Biden will catapult the ticket ahead by double digits.

DC Mayor Adrian Fenty will sign Gay Marriage Bill in 09

The Washington Blade reports DC Mayor Adrian Fenty pledged to sign a same-sex marriage bill which could reach his desk as early as next spring. With Mayor Adrian Fenty and at least 10 of the Council’s 13 members committed to passing a same-sex marriage bill, local activists and city officials have long said the only factor holding back such a bill has been the fear that Congress would invoke its powers to overturn it. I Love Birthday Gifts

I finally opened the first birthday gift I received several days ago. It was sent from Malaysia by my Dearest Terence. I wanted to read this and participate in Oprah's online classes, but I simply did not make it happen. I thank you Terence for your support, caring, love, and being in my life.

Saya Mencintai Anda!

Happy Birthday ALFII !!

Thank god I am here to see yet another birthday. I want to thank my family and dear friends for remembering my birthday. Phone calls have come from far away as Malaysia and Dubai wishing me "Happiness and Health"; for this I am eternally grateful. I miss you!

The celebration began this past Sunday with a road trip to NYC. We checked out the floor show at Escuelita and then were off to ChiChi's. I had a blast with my buddies, Bradley and Keith, thank you for a fantastic evening. Don't worry guys I won't post any pics I took with my Blackberry, LOL.

For my Mom and family, you are the core of my strength and I love you. Lets light the candles!

Aluminum never looked so Sexy

I am in love with the MacBook Pro 17 inch, 2.5GHz. Unfortunately I can't justify the expense in today's economy. I feel the need to hold onto every available ducat until the election is over.

President Bush, with his 16% approval rating, has finally awaken from his stupor. I have no faith in an economic bailout package that is created on his watch. Big business has run amok under his administration and fleeced America. Now the houses of cards are tumbling. His economic policies are directly correlated with the Wall Street fiasco. Blaming the sub prime mortgage market is simply smoke and mirrors and a means of placing fault upon the American public.

Should we be fortunate enough to elect Barack Obama I am celebrating buy purchasing this aluminum beauty on inauguration day.

Short Selling Stock is temporarily banned in UK and USA

As a band aid approach to the hemorrhaging of the market, short selling of stocks is suspended for ten days. This will do little more than hide the symptoms of disease
In a time of financial crisis there are great amounts of money to be made by picking the bones of the fallen. Here is a clear explanation of short selling.

"Michelle Obama's Makeover for America"

American Artist, Daniel Edwards, once again is pushing the limits of artistic expression with his latest life size bust, entitled, "Michele Obama's Makeover for America".

"Michelle Obama's Makeover for America" presents an accessorized mannequin bust of Obama that foregoes the conventional pearl necklace, and provides for her a "signature look" to take to Washington. "The goal is to create a look for Michelle Obama that eliminates excessive comparisons to Jackie Kennedy," said Edwards, who studied under the tutelage of legendary fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, "like supermodel Tyra Banks's photos in Harper's Bazaar, or the puzzling comment from CBS's Byron Pitts that recommended 'less Jackee, more Jackie O.'"

A pearl-studded Afro pick, shaped like an eagle, demonstrates the makeover's fashion mix of Black African and White House heritage to reinvigorate the traditional First Lady pearls. A tight, spiral-textured mane complements Michelle Obama's likeness, with the pearl Afro pick placed modishly askew in a Nefertiti-esque hairstyle. Included are big hoop earrings shaped like O's that seem to suggest, according to a gallery spokesman, "Look out Oprah, a new 'Lady O's' in charge."

Adorning the breasts of Michelle Obama's bust are temporary tattoos, of which an American flag is depicted, to compensate for Barack's pin-free lapels. Additional breast tattoo designs for Mrs. Obama, by Chicago tattoo artist Alex Higgins, will also be exhibited.

"Michelle Obama inspires a fashion template change that many First Ladies of the 21st Century may follow, as we witness minorities in this country becoming the majority," added the spokesman.

Accusing British Museum of racism

"As a professor at the New York Academy's Graduate School of Figurative Art, I teach my students that the gold is found in the people who inspire us," says Edwards. In an open letter to the British Museum at http://www.leokesting.com/ charging racism, Edwards suggests, "In the spirit of friendly global interaction, sculptor Marc Quinn should make amends to humanity by melting down his 2.8 million dollar gold cast of Kate Moss."

"The sculpture of someone like Michelle Obama doesn't need to be cast in gold for people to understand its value," said Edwards, whose past works from the "Inspire America" series include "The Presidential Bust of Hillary Rodham Clinton" featured at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4R-8MUs4R8, the "Oprah Sarcophagus," and "The Iraq War Memorial" featuring a war-dead Prince Harry clutching the cameo-locket of his late mother, Princess Diana.

UNVEILING of "Michelle Obama's Makeover for America" is October 1st, opening reception October 2nd, at Leo Kesting Gallery, 812 Washington St. http://www.LeoKesting.com/. For info call 860-564-0123 or 917-650-3760.

Is Pot Becoming More Addictive?

Marijuana potency increased last year to the highest level in more than 30 years. The analysis from the University of Mississippi's Potency Monitoring Project tracked the average amount of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, in samples seized by law enforcement agencies from 1975 through 2007. It found that the average amount of THC reached 9.6% in 2007, compared with 8.75% the previous year. The 9.6% level represents more than a doubling of marijuana potency since 1983, when it averaged just under 4%.

Pop Star's Dubai Slaying leads to the arrest of her jilted Egyptian Billionaire Lover

It's the Mideast version of a soap opera. Suzanne Tamim, aLebanese pop star, was brutally murdered in her luxury Dubai Marina apartment, her throat slashed. Arrested in her death: One of Egypt's most politically connected businessmen, accused of paying $2 million to have her killed.
While I vacationed in Dubai this past April, authoities proudly claimed the United Arab Emirates as one the safest nation in the modern world. Their unprecedented diligence is evident in this case; they stopped at nothing to arrest an untouchable member of the Egyptian Elite.

My Scent - Prada Amber Pour Homme

Prada's Amber Pour Homme was a gift my mother purchased in Italy while vacationing in 2006. I suppose I would consider it my signature fragrance. If i ever give you a longing embrace, breathe deeply and hold on tight. The notes include bergamot, mandarin, neroli, cardamom, geranium, vetiver, orange blossom, myrrh, nirvanolide musk, labdanum, sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, saffron, patchouli and leather.

Kevin Michael

Kevin Michael, born Kevin Michael Seward, is a R&B, Soul, Funk, Pop artist and one of the most talented vocalist in the game. Born to an Italian mother and an African-American father in Chester Pa. I have been singing his praise for the last year; after hearing several acoustic numbers by the boy wonder. This young brother is as talented as they come.

This CD earns five out of five stars. This CD transported me a a place called "Emerald City" in Cherry Hill, PA. It was a fall night some 25 years ago when another young artist, named Prince, changed my world.

Rockferry by Duffy

Check out the CD Rockferry by Welsh singer Duffy, it is hot. I first heard a club version of her hit"Mercy" a few months back and many martinis ago. Her vocals were so raw and real I was captivated.

The disc brings to mind Amy Winehouse, but only in the kindest comparisons. Both women have a throwback sound to my childhood, when music was orchestrated and not just programmed.
