John McCain showed up to the debate and gave his best performance to date. He started out strong and somewhat on message however he soon deteriorated into his snarls, grimaces and peculiarly inappropriate chuckle. Interestingly, he attempted to attack Senator Obama’s eloquence on several occasion. Does McCain really think that Obama is a slick talking snake oil salesman? His reference to Obama’s eloquence only made his own verbal slip ups that much more apparent. He showed up to the debate tonight swinging his hatchet at Senator Obama who made quick work of it with his proverbial scalpel.
The split screen debate was not kind to McCain who often grimaces and chuckles inappropriately. Once again did appeared erratic and angry as previously indicated. I noticed that the condescending tone he had with Obama in the first debate was absent.
McCain’s absurdly claimed that ACORN is “destroying the fabric of democracy” along with his insistence that Obama associates with Mr. Ayers was his lowest point.
Although McCain stepped up his game it was much too little, and too late. I believed that McCain could have made a much better showing, apparently I am naïve. McCain demonstrated that he simply is not the better of the two candidates. Sadly, I believe that John MaCain will be a broken man on November 5, 2008.
